Mozarteum Trumpet Sound

This recording focuses on Hans Gansch, world renowned trumpeter, together with graduates and students of his class, who devote themselves to the fascinating sound possibilities of the trumpet. The extraordinary versatility of this instrument and the broad range of its repertoire are documented here with the utmost virtuosity: the programme ranges from Tchaikovsky’s ‘Nutcracker’ ballet and Baroque works by Handel and Vivaldi to Ein Heldenleben by Richard Strauss, fanfares by Britten and Stravinsky, as well as traditional melodies from Spain and Scotland. An exciting potpourri that reveals the extraordinary art of the trumpet.
